Questions and Answers
If you are going from heim joints to tie rod ends on your steering or if you are flipping your tie rod to the top of the knuckle, then our tapered steering knuckle insert is the part you need. All you need is a 7/8" hole to put the insert in, and you have the proper taper for a GM 1 ton tie rod end (7° or 1.5" per ft.). From the lip down this measures 3/4 inches. These are sold individually. This insert will not work with the high angle tie rod end! (ES2026R)

Tepered insert
These inserts worked great for my custom application. I was able to convert my pitman arm and high steer arm to use gm 1 ton tie rod ends without having to buy an expensive reamer. Great price and fast shipping.

Going from heims to a TRE these work very well. TRE are best suited for road use, plus you can add grease!

Q:
I am trying to repair my steering knuckle because it appears that the taper is larger than what it is supposed to be. What is the inner diameter of the large end of the taper?
Asked by:
Michael
- 2/4/2020
A:
This inserts widest point is going to be .74 of an inch. That being said the insert is slotted and this will vary slightly by the hole drilled in the knuckle.

Q:
Hello! Is this the insert needed for my stock 2015 Jeep JK pitman arm and GM 1ton draglink ends? Thanks!
Asked by:
Brandon
- 6/3/2019
A:
Our no drill kit (PartNo: B4WK12293) doesn't require any inserts or drilling if running your drag link under the knuckle. If you plan to run your drag link over the knuckle you will need to drill your passenger side knuckle to 7/8" and add a tapered insert.

Q:
I have a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica AWD. Replacing the tie rod end on the drivers side I discovered the tapered hole on the knuckle the tie rod goes into is wallowed out, no longer usable. Do you have a tapered bushing I could use to repair this?

Tim
- 6/11/2019
A:
We do have those! They are currently out of stock and expected to be back in stock in around 2 weeks. Check back with us and we'll get you set up!
