We all see lots of tube style trusses in use but a tube dosen't address the twist introduced with torque input, tubes will make the axle stronger and give a place to mount your upper links but do little beyond that. Then there are the plate steel variations that also are great axle strengtheners and even better mounting points for links but again, do little about torsional twisting. Our truss designs incorporate a full torsion box for strength in every way others do but the box design also resists' the twist incurred with extreme torque input. The Cruiser Rear Housing is very offset, not as much as the front seems with the knuckle in the way but is actually the same and not enough room to straddle the chunk and still leave room for good shock mount placement, however, Toyota was kind enough to make the housing a good weldable steel and not cast iron, so this is a half truss and it is made to weld to the side of the housing and to the axle tube on the other end leaving you 6.75" on either side of the centerline for link placement. |
